Turn the Trucking ELD Mandate Into an Edge for Your Business
Don't waste time and money on technology that isn't suitable for your company. If your ELD has poor customer support, reliability issues, or is unable to connect with software that you use in your business, it will ultimately eat up your profits.
Your staff is busy with important tasks, and they don’t need an ELD that slows them down and makes life miserable. The right ELD should be a benefit to the entire business – something you’ll wish you purchased many years ago.
We researched many ELDs over the last 7 years. Until recently, we had not found one that we were happy with or could easily integrate with. Our standards were very high. We were looking into developing our own elog device… until we found Geotab.
eTrucks works with many ELD providers, but Geotab is the ELD we decided to officially partner with. eTrucks is an authorized reseller of Geotab.
When deciding on an ELD for your trucking fleet, don’t you think that a long history of reliability and excellent customer service is important?
With over 20 years of experience in building and refining ELDs and other telematic products, Geotab is incredibly reliable.
They have the lowest hardware failure rate in the entire ELD industry. Their data has zero gaps, which actually exceeds the compliance standards set in Canada and the USA. It also brings many other advantages to your business…
Give better service to your customers with real-time tractor locations and geofencing for zones, available to you at the click of a button. You will know your true trip miles, and you can provide your customers with accurate departure and arrival times.
Find better routes and save on fuel when you utilize all the data that Geotab gathers for you.. Keep track of speeding, engine diagnostics, idle time, and more – per truck. If there is anything you want to stay on top of, then set up an alert.
Cut down on office paperwork, with vehicle inspection reports, electronic driver logs, and automated mileage data that you need for fuel tax reporting. Geotab is fully compliant and certified with the trucking ELD mandates from both Transport Canada and FMCSA.
Improve driver safety and company safety scores with a huge number of risk management reports and notifications. These features will help your company minimize violations, prevent accidents, and save lives.
Install the ELD hardware in 5 minutes. It’s completely plug and play, connecting directly to your vehicles’ OBD II ports (ADD) or diagnostic ports of your truck, with any pin configuration..
Take control of your entire trucking operation with a user-friendly dashboard that helps you interpret all that data with confidence, and use it to improve your business.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Geotab trucking ELD come with a screen?
No. Instead, Geotab allows users to use their own smartphones or tablets as their own personal electronic logbook for truckers.
Electronic logging device compliance has never been easier, with the amount of ELD solutions available from Geotab.
Will my Geotab ELD work when 3G is no longer available?
Yes. Unlike some other devices which will be affected by the shutdown of 3G networks during 2022… the GO9 devices are already 4G and 5G capable.
Always keep in mind, when evaluating electronic logs for truckers, that if you buy something old and out of date, they could very quickly be obsolete and not up to trucking ELD compliance standards.
What kind of customer support is available?
Geotab has 24/7 customer support.
On top of that, you’ll have access to eTrucks customer support if you have any questions about how to use ELD solutions in relation to our fuel tax and compliance software
Will the Geotab ELD record data when outside of network coverage?
Yes. Electronic logbooks for truckers must be completely accurate and Electronic Logging Device compliance requires data with no gaps. Geotab solves this by continuing to record on its memory card, even when out of network service. Geotab considers and follows every aspect of trucking ELD compliance.
Does the Geotab ELD have a WIFI hotspot capability?
Yes, the GO9+ has WIFI hotspot capability – making ELD compliance easier on your data than other options.
How reliable is the hardware?
This is actually one of the strongest points in Geotab’s favor.
They have been developing eld solutions and other telematics for over 22 years – the amount of experience is unmatched in the industry. They have an electronic logging device fail rate of less than 0.01%.
How is the security?
A hot topic lately is how ELDs, or even trucks, could be potential targets for “hacking.” Supposedly, for most trucks, ELDs, and their WIFI environment, it could be about as simple as hacking into the WIFI network of your local coffee shop.
Not with Geotab – they have taken extra steps to avoid this risk and the security is excellent. The way Geotab has set up their hardware, the tablet does not have to communicate with the trucking ELD receiver or GO9 device.
Geotab is the first Electronic Logging Device company to receive FIPS 140-2 validated data encryption. In fact, they basically “wrote the book” on what engineering standards all manufacturers of OBD devices need to follow, globally.
